Can lighting, music, great fellowship and worship spaces distract us from our pursuit of our Father? Could these things even cause someone to think that they have been in the presence of our heavenly father but actually not? Well, that question is only answered by each individual. From our perspective at Ecclesia, we want to hear God and to listen to what He desires for the particular church we are working with and to understand what the churches unique calling is in how they reach out to His people. Can we build environments that glorify God without coating the ceilings, walls and doors with gold like King Solomon did? Sure we can. As a matter of fact, I’m not so sure that God wouldn’t just have us do an excellent job in what we have to work with and do that with excellence. Think about this, have you ever been somewhere that made you feel like you wanted to come back because of the way it made you feel? For me it’s been places with intimate lighting, comfortable seating and maybe good food. Well, translate this into church. Intimate lighting in the cafe or sanctuary, comfortable seating as well and food? Well maybe not food we like to think of but maybe the kind that Jesus refers too as food such as the Word of God. Ah, now that’s sounding like the sort of church I like and probably most others. Here is the challenge, creating an environment that will draw people in and then draw them back, at the same time being a good steward of the type of materials and building design we land on and then finally, avoiding the possible scenario of creating such an environment that the individual feels like they felt God but it was just a cool time in a cool place. So how does this spatial intimacy effect people and wheres your line of good stewardship with materials and environments?

Join me next blog for the topic of your churches mission.

A note of thanks for the stellar job you and your staff did in constructing our new Worship Center. Your team worked extra hard to satisfy all the demands and often went “above the call of duty” to finish the project successfully.

Personally, I was very much impressed with the way you conducted business by Biblical principles and in a way that honored Christ in all your practices. I know you did some things to accommodate that you didn’t have to, but you “went the extra mile” to honor our Lord and you did it with a great attitude, while displaying a Christ-like spirit. It’s no wonder your company is being blessed the way it is; it’s a fulfillment of the promise made in scripture. “He who honors me, him I will honor.” Thanks again for all your help; I look forward to working with you in the future.

‘Till His house is full,

We have had the pleasure to work with Jeff Whittle over the past few years in constructing several buildings through out the southeast with his previous companies and current company. He has been thorough, honest, easy to reach, quick to respond, and is always open to discussing solutions to construction opportunities.

His knowledge of the process from pre-construction through the occupancy of a building is valuable to a novice owner that does not know the process. His willingness and patience to help an owner through this process has been seen to be of great value to his past clients which allows the opportunity for repeat clients.

We look forward to a long lasting relationship with Ecclesia Construction Company, LLC in years to come.
